The students are at the heart of the department and student organizations are vital to exercise their rights and to participate in extracurricular activities. There are two organizations that are under/are related to the department: Computer & Information Sciences Council (CISCO) and Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC). 🚀🌟
CISCO is the main student council under DCISM. It bridges the gap between the faculty and the students by providing services, like programs, orientations, and events. One of the prominent events of the academic year 2023-2024 is the DCISM General Assembly in Event Space during February of 2024.
GDSC USC is a student-based community under Google Developers that aims to create tech solutions. It hosts talks, assemblies, workshops, and more. One of the popular events hosted by GDSC is devfest. Moreover, it partners with different organizations, as well as brands that fulfill similar missions, especially those that are tech related. Recent companies that are in association with GDSC USC are DataCamp and Notion.
